Context and challenges
Getting Krauthammer back on track after the severe post 2009 crisis and setting up a new Executive Management Team (EMT 2013-2018) following Thierry's appointment as CEO.
Approach used
The story began with the casting of a team that was both very diverse in terms of profiles and globally complementary. Thierry was able to create a truly solid group, capable of entering into contradictory debates but remaining united, finding the space to forge individual and collective links, putting key issues on the table in a transparent way, co-constructing the strategy and its implementation with EMT.
As Chief Innovation Officer, I admired his cross-functionality in understanding the ins and outs of all management functions and his formidable verticality when it came to delving deeply into a key process. His exemplary work capacity, his availability, his relevant questioning... and his caustic humour are indisputably part of his trademark.
Results achieved
The team was built for 5 years and lasted 5 years in its initial configuration. That in itself is already a remarkable result at this level of responsibility. The company returned to growth, stimulated a new winning mindset, integrated the new generation into an ambitious Young Professionals programme, implemented a new Krauthammer Partners strategy, deployed a new digital platform and 3rd generation support programmes including the “High Performing Executive Teams” led by Thierry.
